Opposition parties the Congress, TDP and BJP are leaving no stone unturned to tarnish the image of the TRS government to gain political mileage. For the first time the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced to distribute more than one crore sarees among women on the occasion of Bathkamma festival. When the benefit goes to the poor and downtrodden, the welfare measure should be lauded by one and all. As many of such programmes are being taken by the government, the opposition parties are getting more aggressive to oppose and blemish the image of the government. Sarees are being distributed among women folk irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
Whereas the women are happy to receive the sarees the opposition leaders are bent on sabotaging the welfare schemes. These leaders are blaming that the quality of sarees is poor. They may no doubt flay the government as it is their right but taking cheap potshots will only boomerang them. These sarees were burnt at some places to show that women were not happly with the quality of the sarees.
It is reported that the Chief Minister got furious over these incidents. He asked the collectors and party MLAs to probe into these incidents and take action against those who are behind these incidents. The minister for textile K T Rama Rao condemned the opposition leaders for resorting to such cheap tactics. He said burning sarees is insult to women. It is against Indian culture. Undeterred by such activities, the government will continue welfare measures, he said.
