Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, was targeted by the South Indian actor Prakash Raj who while addressing a meeting on Octorber 2 in Bangaluru said he wanted to return his national awards because Prime Minister Narendra Modi deserved these awards more as he is maintaining silence on the brutal murder of Kannada journalist Gauri Lankesh. He said the PM was bigger actor than he. Some of those people who celebrated the murder were following the Prime Minister on Twitter. He was speaking at the 11th state meet of the Democratic Youth Federation of India. Gauri Lankesh was shot dead at her house as she was known to criticize the right-wing organizations particularly the RSS. He expressed concern that no arrest was made in the case despite the state government making all efforts to nab the killers.
The actor also castigated the UP Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath and said when he looked at the statements issued by the Chief Minister, it was difficult to understand whether he was the Chief Minister or a priest of a temple. Such people should be dubbed as actors and not as politicians, he added.
Meanwhile the Karnataka minister Ramalinga Reddy said the investigation team got some clues as to who is behind the murder. The police are seeking more evidence, he said.
