Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is popular not only in his state, but his mass appeal in Andhra Pradesh is also wonderfully high. It was witnessed when he attended a marriage function in the Rayalaseema’s Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh in recent past. It was the marriage of Paritala Sriram son of civil supplies minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sunitha, widow of Paritala Ravi. The Telangana Chief Minister was the attraction of every eyeball in the function. Even the AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was comparatively ignored. KCR was once the cabinet colleague of Paritala Ravi in the NTR ministry. After a long time the chief ministers of the neighboring states met each other, of course with mental reservations.
This gesture of the audience received by the Telangana Chief Minister irked the TDP Telangana working president A Revanth Reddy who criticized the AP ministers and legislators for giving reception to the Telangana Chief Minister. He is the front ranking critic of the KCR performance. There are strong rumours that he is mulling to join the Congress. So far he did not refute the political speculations. When asked about it he said there are no strong political parties in Telangana except pro-KCR and anti-KCR groups. What is wrong in having close relations with Congress, he queried. Some Congress leaders are welcoming him, but he is non-committal.
The TRS leaders said they were least bothered about Revanth Reddy’s joining the Congress. Welcoming the TDP leader is the clear indication that the Congress is far from stable in the state.
