The Chief Minister of the newly carved state of Telangana outsmarted all other states of India when the eighth edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit was organized in Hyderabad on November 28. It was co-hosted by the US and India. The theme of the 3-day event is ‘Women First, Prosperity for all,’ wherein hundreds of delegates which came from 50 countries discussed empowering women entrepreneurs and start ups. The US and Indian government committed that all space should be provided to the women enterprises. The message is loud and clear that when women are empowered, their communities and countries are bound to thrive.
Addressing the delegates, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the essential qualities that set entrepreneurs apart are their patience and determination. They should be ahead of the time for the betterment of mankind.
Ivanka Trump, the daughter of the US president and his advisor, the cynosure of all eyes in the meeting, took a cue from the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who spoke of Hyderabadi Biryani, said in near future Hyderabad would be known for entrepreneurs rather than its famous Biryani. She said in the last decade, women in the US had made remarkable strides in starting new businesses. Women entrepreneurs can grow global GDP by at least 2 per cent. Quoting business reports, she gave many tips for the success of the business.
Yet another feather in the cap of the government of Telangana was Hyderabad Metro Rail which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister. Prime Minister who was very much impressed by the Metro Rail, took an inaugural ride along with the governor E S L Narsimhan, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali, the I T minister K T Rama Rao and others.
