Senior BJP leader and former minister, Yashwant Sinha who in recent times identified himself as a free, frank and bold critic of the Modi government, on January 30, launched a political forum Rashtra Manch in Delhi to find faults with the government and also with the wrong policies of the opposition. He said that the forum has no attachment with any political party and it would work in the larger interests of the nation. The forum will discuss important issues faced by the nation and guide the government as well as people at large.
The BJP leader said they would work in the interest of the nation and not in the interest of any political party. It will not turn into a political party, Yashwant Sinha asserted and said it was in the interest of the nation to criticize the wrong policies of the government. The way is not anti-Modi or anti-BJP but pro-people. The government should not hate criticism but find reason and work in the larger interest of the nation. He said that if necessary the forum would conduct protests against the misguided policies of the central and state governments. He said the forum would support the farmers from Madhya Pradesh who did not get justice from the government.
He said even after 70 years of independence, people were facing the same problems. He flayed the economic policies of the government and said opposition demands were being ignored. He introduced diplomats and other leaders who are associated with the forum.
Another BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha supported the establishment of the forum and said it was the need of the hour. Trinamool Congress MP Dinesh Trivedi, Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury N C P MP Majeed Menon and other political leaders attended the meeting.
