KTR reiterates his challenge to take ‘sanyasa’ if TRS gets defeated in 2019 poll

The Industries and Information Technology Minister, K T Rama Rao reiterated his challenge already thrown to the Congress chief Uttam Kumar Reddy that he would take ‘sanyasa’ from politics if the ruling TRS gets defeated in 2019 elections. He was sore over the remark of the Congress chief that the CM K C R family members should quit politics. He said such remarks should not be passed by any sane politician. He said he already threw a challenge to the Congress leader that he would quit politics if his party was defeated in the coming 2019 elections. The Congress chief should accept the challenge that otherwise he would quit the politics, he said and added that there was no point that his family members are dragged in any controversy.

Rama Rao while speaking to press persons on February 7 said he was confident that the TRS would sweep polls. Two surveys conducted by independent agencies predicted that the ruling party would get 100 seats out of 119. His confidence was based on the popularity of the Chief Minister among the masses and classes. The people are convinced that the Chief Minister was always keen to redress their grievances. The government has taken a number of welfare schemes and taken strides towards the goal of golden Telangana. He said his party would go alone in the election and the opposition alliance of different parties would not work to click.

He said his party was ready for early Lok Sabha elections because his party leaders had firm faith in the people of the state. He criticized the Congress rule in the state because the people and farmers were left in the lurch while his government took care of the farm sector and now the government was providing  24-hour power to them.
