The Rashtra Swayamsevak Sangh’s chief Mohan Bhagwat is not a leader of common class who issues controversial statements to seek laurels from the Sangh Parivar and to elevate his stature among the Hindutva devotees. He is sincere, selfless and committed to the cause. He says the RSS parade is not to showcase the jingoism or communalism, but to create a sincere spirit to serve the people irrespective of caste, creed and region and that is the real motto of the organization that has been engaged to train the youth of the country. This pan India body launched decades ago to serve the people and the country is forcefully and dedicatedly working under the leadership of Mohan Bhagwat. He is a devout Hindu and a true Hindu is a symbol of humanitarianism. He goes beyond the narrow circles of religion, language and region.
Mohan Bhagwat is lucky that during his tenure the BJP came to power under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the ironman of the time and true follower of the first Home Minister of the Independent India. It the RSS which is the backbone of the BJP. It is the RSS which has made the BJP a cadre-based party. During elections, the RSS has been in the vanguard. It is an old tradition, but during his tenure not only the RSS, but all the affiliates have turned disciplined. He takes personal interest in training the cadre and he works day in and day out to achieve this motto.
It is he who raised the organization to the peak where the Prime Minister felt compelled to put the record of the government before him. He has never been arrogant on this count. It is his effort that the organization is now playing a pivotal role in making the policy and implementing it.
Against this backdrop, Mohan Bhagwat on Februay 11 issued the statement that he was ready to call RSS volunteers to go to the border and fight the Pak army which is violating the cease fire accord and motor-shelling on the LoC killing innocent men, women and children. It was the devotion and the spirit of service that drove him to issue the statement. He was on a 10-day tour of Bihar when he issued the statement which the opposition said was an insult to the Army. Mohan Bhagwat gives highest regard to the forces of the country. Before criticising his remark, one should see the enthusiasm on his part. He said within three days he could amass thousands of RSS workers who would go to the borders. We should applaud and appreciate his daring spirit. He was sorry that the constitution does not allow any voluntary body to fight on the border.
