Hyderabad Airport (RGIA) gets global distinction fourth time in a row


Telangana State is making progress in different arenas by the dint of sincerity and hard work of the administration under the stewardship of the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The state is being heaped with praise by many national organizations. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has cut a grand figure to add another feather in the cap of the Telangana State. It is reported on March 6 that the airport bagged the No. 1 slot in the 5-15 million per annum passengers’ category on the basis of passengers’ survey for 2017. It was given the award in Airport Service Quality.

In 2016, the distinction was awarded to the airport along with a Chinese airport. Now the airport won the award without sharing. Making the announcement on March 6, officials of the airport said the Montreal-based Airport Council International awarded Hyderabad Airport as the World No. 1 in airport service quality. The officials said they were planning an expansion of the airport and infrastructure. It will achieve the 18 million passengers per annum mark soon. It started with 6.2 million passengers in 2009 and it is now eyeing for almost three times its current figure. The awards ceremony will be held in Halifax Nova Scotia in Canada. Some passengers in their interaction with this correspondent spoke highly about the passenger service. The officials ask passengers to cooperate with them to keep it clean.
