Dushyant Singh Chautala has emerged as a dependable leader of the people of Haryana. Dushyant’s new Jannayak Janta Party is committed to the cause of welfare of the people. The Haryana politics witnessed a revolutionary turn when this new icon of people formed his own political party to carry forward the true legacy of Jannayak Chaudary Devi Lal.
The Chautala family rule was founded by Jannayak Chaudhary Devi Lal, who served as the deputy Prime Minister of India. The new party’s name, incidentally draws from the popular image of Devi Lal, great grandfather of Dushyant, as ‘Jannayak’. Since launching the new outfit Dushyant’s Jannayak Janta Party has been embraced by lakhs of people from every nook and corner of the state of Haryana. JJP’s grass-roots membership is strong and the party enjoys core support and dedication of workers like Shamsuddin Gomal. Dushyant is said to be personally aware of each worker, he visits them, hears them and understands them. His leadership traits have helped him build a powerful image for the party at the grassroots.
Dushyant Chautala has led the party to such heights within no time that with ten seats, JJP emerged in the kingmaker’s role during the Haryana elections. The BJP sought the support of Dushyant’s JJP, and the seven Independents, to enable it to form a stable government. Dushyant’s new role as the Deputy Chief Minister of Harayana has enabled him to deliver on his promises to farmers and live up to the expectations of the youth of Harayana.
Born in Hisar District of Haryana to the Chautala family Dushyant belongs to the Jat community. After successfully forming a coalition government with the BJP many political analysts noted that he claimed the legacy of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal, as a leader from the Jat community. His deep attachment and concern for the people of Haryana was witnessed during his tenure as MP when he raised more than 630 questions in the Parliament bringing Haryana’s issues to the notice of the Centre. Dushyant was also directly involved in forcing the Central Government to withdraw an amendment brought to the Motor Vehicles Act that intended to change the definition of an agricultural tractor to a commercial vehicle. The amendment would have levied needless tax on the farmers but this was successfully prevented after Dushyant tirelessly raised the protest in Parliament.
Dushyant has offered a corruption-free government in Harayana. Within 9 months of forming his government Dushyant has undertaken strong measures in all departments to prevent corruption.
Dushyant’s government is also keen to promote skill development as part of implementing the New Education Policy which will benefit the younger generation and is expected to inspire the youth to become self-reliant.
Dushyant has also undertaken steps to ensure employment opportunities to the youth of Haryana. He fulfilled his pre-poll promise of employment reservation for youth of Haryana by bringing the Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Ordinance 2020 giving 75 per cent reservation in jobs to locals.
Dushyant continues to fulfil his role as the people’s leader by dedicating each day to his people through a “janata darbar” where he patiently listens to resolve the deep concerns and issues of people visiting from all corners of Haryana. Indeed, for the people and their hopes Dushyant is the rising sun of Haryana.
In recognition of his outstanding leadership and his continued dedication and commitment to the welfare of the people, Public Front – India’s National English Weekly is presenting him with the Award of Honour.
